HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! I hope your 4th of July was SAFE and filled with FUN. First up is my submission for Joey's Weekly Challenge  alphabet challenge. For the letter "D", Joey presented us with Dugwud by Anita Roby-Lavery. This next one is what I submitted for  Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing" Challenge . This week was to use String #99 with patterns Tearce by Pan Pincha-Wagener, Tracery by Dianne Krumnow, CZT, and Tripoli by Maria Thomas. And then there was the Square One Focus on Munchin This next tile is for   SuzyMosh "That's New To Me" Weekly Challenge.  The random letter this week was "H", for which I chose Ha-Nuka from Yamit Fridman. "H" was a duplicate so we were also challenged to use a pattern by the featured artist Michelle Beauchamp, CZT. I chose her pattern Bradz. I did this on a tan Renaissance tile using Sakura Pigma Micron pens, Sakura White GellyRoll pen, and graphit...

One of the first things I did this week, creatively speaking, was this tiny Bijou tile that I did for Joey's  Alphabet Weekly Challenge . This week was the letter "C" and the tangle that was chosen was Cornerz by Didier Gerry.  I'm not really happy with the way it turned out, so I may end up redoing it this weekend.  But I'll post it for now in case you drop by. And on Sunday I finished this one for SuzyMosh's  "That's New to Me" weekly challenge.  This week's random letter was "N" which was a duplicate, so we also had a featured artist, Neil Burley.  For my tile I chose to use Nabu by Neil Burley on a watercolour background. I did this one for a group focus on an original Zentangle called Meer. Thanks for stopping by.  Please let me know you were here.

Happy Monday!  And welcome to a brand new week.  I hope you had the kind of weekend that you hoped to have.  One of the things that I was able to enjoy was a visit with my daughter in her "private sanctuary".  She has done an amazing job of transforming her backyard. What you don't see here is off to the right...her vegetable garden!  What a green thumb!  Artichokes, broccoli, squash, tomatoes, carrots, beans and   so on.  Oh, and she even has a strawberry patch.   Oh... and I used the Rotisserie again. This time to cook a whole, marinated chicken. And OH MY!! It was so yummy! Now for this weekend's ZIA tile.  From Suzy's " That's New to Me!  Weekly Challenge the random letter this week was "R". "R" was  a duplicate,  so we were also challenged to use at least one tangle from the featured artist, who this week was Lily Popcheff.  Aside from that challenge, the focus of the Square One: Pur...

I'm going to change things up a bit for this post.  Recently I went on vacation in Arizona.  It was GORGEOUS.  When you go in April, you get to see the desert in bloom.  Here are just a few pictures: The vacation was amazing! Our dearest friends Art and Lisa made it a week we will never forget!  We love you, and we miss you both. We will be back soon! Well, it turns out that at some point during March or April at work, there was a kind drawing that was held as part of an incentive for a goal we reach.  I didn't know it, but each district's manager were ask to submit a few names that they felt really went the extra mile to help the district's success. My manager entered my name! I believe I found out later that I was one of three that was entered for Oregon.  Anyway, my first day back at work I got a call from Corporate congratulating me because my name had been pulled from the fishbowl! Imagine my shock, since I didn't even...

The week the Diva challenged us to use ONLY straight lines. As fun as it was, this is my third attempt. It is more difficult to create a tile using nothing but straight lines.  I finally created one, so here is my entry to  The Diva's Weekly Challenge #219 This next tile actually started out as 2 separate tiles, but due to the way things worked out, I combined them into one tile that I can actually use for three challenges!  It started out with the letter R for  Suzy Mosh's "That's New To Me" Weekly Challenge . But I was never able to get a tile that I liked enough to post for the challenge. Then the next challenge was the letter A.  In the meantime, the focus for the Square One: Purely Zentangle was RAIN (an Original Zentangle). So, RAIN covers last week's "R" challenge, then I found ALLIUM, by JJ LaBarbera as my new to me "A" tangle, and this is what I came up with. Thanks for stopping by. Please let me know you were...

I finish a new project today.  I wish I had taken more pictures, but it started out as some copper wire and beads. The heavier wire is some random copper wire that I picked up at Lowe's. The finer wire is some copper wire that came in a wire wrap kit I bought YEARS ago for making wire decorations for scrapbooking. OH! And my husband took me shopping for a new tool, because if I would have used his MAN size one, I would have her someone, or worse!  So we bought this tiny purrfect sized soldering torch that I can use for jewelry. Work in Process.  You can see my new wrap bracelet and some of my tools in the background.    Since the girls (our cats) don't leave me alone to work on jewelry in the house, now that the weather in nice I set up my portable desk outside on the deck. Another plus of working on the deck is the visitors we get. Well, anyway, here is the finished piece.  And it even fits! LOL S...

I'm finally back! Hopefully it won't be another month or so before I come here to update.  There's been a lot going on, including a wonderful vacation in Arizona! Maybe more about that later. In the meantime, here's a new tile I just finished. It's for  Diva's Weekly Challenge #218 , where we were challenged to use a white gel pen (I used Gelly Roll by Sakura) on black tile (I used an official Zentangle tile).  The tangles I used for this are Mooka and Zinger. I thought maybe that was a little too simple, so I've changed it a bit. Which one do you prefer, the original or this one? And here is black on white! Black Pigma Micron on white 3.5 x 3.5 Zentangle tile. Lightly shaded with regular graphite #2 pencil. And here again I used Mooka and Zinger. Also, some of you know that I also make jewelry. I have entered a contest to win a book about making Vintage style Jewelry . Wish me luck! I'll be back in a couple days w...
