Ketogenic Challenge

HI!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Tomorrow I start a 2 week Ketogenic Challenge. I've been playing with a couple of the recipes in the last couple of days, but tomorrow is DAY 1.  Tomorrow I weigh, measure, take pictures, and make my first "keto challenge" meal.

I'll be posting my progress here in my blog. Hopefully that will accomplish 2 things:

          1. I will start updating my blog again

          2. I get to readily see the progress by posting before and after pictures

If I see good progress over the next 2 weeks, I will continue with the Ketogenic lifestyle and see if I can finally reach my goals!

Wish me lunch.  Some encouragement would be helpful also!

Until tomorrow tomorrow then.  Right now it's back to shampooing the carpet.

Welcome to 2017

Happy New Year!
I hope that 2017 will be an amazing year for all of us.  It's sure starting out good for me! My mini cooper died a few months ago, so at the end of November, my husband bought me a fun ride!  Meet Lucy, my new-to-me LadyBug!! She has pawprints for her ladybug spots...

I just started a GREAT new job a few days before the start of the new year, so my work life will be filled with lots of new opportunities to learn and grow, both personally and professionally, new friendships to build, new challenges

             1) 2017 goal: to continue my commitment to be a lifelong learner

My new employer also offers all kinds of Wellness incentives, including things like reimbursement of certain gym/fitness fee's, etc. So I am going to join the local YMCA and sign up for a class or two!

             2) 2017 goal: Refocus on my wellness and weigh-loss goals

I just today received an email advising me that I WON a YELLOW RHODIARAMA NOTEBOOK
from a special giveaway at...

I just don't seem to be able to get the things done that I want to and need to do! So... here we go. New month, new week, now is as good a time as any to start a new journal! Lets see if this can help me to organize, prioritize, and get things done.  From what I am learning about customizable journaling, this will evolve and change, maybe even from week to week!  I hope to be more creative as time goes on, but my journal will continue to be more functional than decorated.

Please let me know you were here.  Comments are ALWAYS appreciated.

These are some idea's I've been playing around with for bracelets.  The top one is copper on copper.  I think turquoise beads would be great with this copper one.
The bottom one is copper wire on painted aluminum. I'm already not fond of using painted aluminum wire for wire wrapping projects-it scratches too easily. This one will never be finished... there is no way to fix the scratches. But I am playing around with bead ideas, and it's always good to practice when learning something new!
Thanks for stopping by! Won't you let me know you were here?
I'll be back with a new post soon.

June 11

Well, I certainly haven't kept up with my blog.  In my own defense, I have been busy. Unfortunately some of it is not so good. The problems with my spine have continued to degrade. My Primary Care Dr. sent me for some x-rays. The results from the x-ray had my Pain Specialist Dr. send me for a myelogram and a CT scan. This picture is from the myelogram. This is the needle and the dye going into my spinal canal. See how the die gets brighter towards the bottom? That's because the dye is stopping there. The blockage is so severe, they couldn't even get the die to go down any further.

From my myelogram and ct scan. This one shows comparison of the space between some of the other lumbar vertebrae, in comparison to the space (or rather lack of) between L4 and L5.

See how the one vertebrae has slipped forward from the one underneath it? And there is no space between those 2 vertebrae? It's not supposed to be like that.

I met with my Pain Specialist this past Thursday, June 9th…

A New Year - A New Idea

WOW! I haven't been here since October?  It doesn't seem that long. I guess I was busier with the holidays than I thought. The saddest part is that I didn't even take pictures of the gifts that I made for family and friends to share with you.  I really must do better.
One thing that will help is that I will delete my other blog, then I won't feel guilty if I update one and not the other.  So you will start seeing more than just my ZIA here.  You will see some of my other loves as well. You might start seeing stories about "the girls", the 4 cats that we have the honour of serving in our house:

You might see stories about the Gunnar, the rescue dog we adopted from Texas this past November:

Or you might see the latest piece of jewelry that I have created:

Hopefully you will see picture of my journal.  I hope to incorporate lots of fun things in my art journal.. including, of course, Zentangles and ZIA.
I'll be back SOON with more updates.

October 11 - 17

Wow.  I cannot believe I haven't been here since August.  I won't bore you with all the details, but I have been busy with "challenge" at work throughout the month of September. Then there was the horrible tragedy at my Alma Mater, Umpqua Community College. And last Friday was a trip north to Eugene for a follow-up visit to NeuroSpine Institute (still waiting for results from some Xrays they took). Anyway, I'm here now.
I have a lot of catching up to do on Joey's Weekly Alphabet Challenge,  so that is where I'm going to start. This week's challenge was using the letter "S", and the tangle that we were given was Striping. This is what I came up with.

If you stopped by earlier this week, you know that I already had "O" and "N" ready, but hadn't taken pictures yet. Well, now I have taken the pictures. So, without further delay, here is Oke, for the letter "O"

And, for the letter "N" is N'Zepple

Now …
