Day 25



Did I forget Day 24, not really.  I started it but was unable to finish due to unforeseen circumstances. If I finish it this week I will post it here.   In the meantime, here is this week's submission to SuzyMosh's 'That's new to me', which you can visit HERE  This week's random letter is "U" so I picked Undling, and used a border of eez.

Today we were told that one of the prerequisites to a design becoming a tangle is that it can be completed in just a few strokes, some with only ONE stroke, such a Mooka.  Mooka is made from start to finish without lifting the pen off of the paper...a single stroke completes the tangle. Our three tangles today were Amaze (which I did NOT do properly, it is not supposed to cross itself) Mooka and Flux. Again I used pattern #006 from Linda Farmer's TanglePatterns website. I'm not thrilled with the end result, but it is what it is. I was a little stressed today because my husband and I spent the day in Eugene at medical appointments.  They turned my spinal stimulator back on, but it may take a few days before I feel relief from pain.  I hope this frequency will bring at least the same level of relief as the first frequency did!  Tomorrow is a new day, and a chance to learn new tangles and improve my tanglability. Well, I certainly haven't kept up with my blog.  In my own defense, I have been busy. Unfortunately some of it is not so good. The problems with my spine have continued to degrade. My Primary Care Dr. sent me for some x-rays. The results from the x-ray had my Pain Specialist Dr. send me for a myelogram and a CT scan. This picture is from the myelogram. This is the needle and the dye going into my spinal canal. See how the die gets brighter towards the bottom? That's because the dye is stopping there. The blockage is so severe, they couldn't even get the die to go down any further. From my myelogram and ct scan. This one shows comparison of the space between some of the other lumbar vertebrae, in comparison to the space (or rather lack of) between L4 and L5.  See how the one vertebrae has slipped forward from the one underneath it? I'm finally back! Hopefully it won't be another month or so before I come here to update.  There's been a lot going on, including a wonderful vacation in Arizona! Maybe more about that later. In the meantime, here's a new tile I just finished. It's for  Diva's Weekly Challenge #218 , where we were challenged to use a white gel pen (I used Gelly Roll by Sakura) on black tile (I used an official Zentangle tile).  The tangles I used for this are Mooka and Zinger. I thought maybe that was a little too simple, so I've changed it a bit. Which one do you prefer, the original or this one? And here is black on white! Black Pigma Micron on white 3.5 x 3.5 Zentangle tile. Lightly shaded with regular graphite #2 pencil. And here again I used Mooka and Zinger. I'm going to change things up a bit for this post.  Recently I went on vacation in Arizona.  It was GORGEOUS.  When you go in April, you get to see the desert in bloom.  Here are just a few pictures: The vacation was amazing! Our dearest friends Art and Lisa made it a week we will never forget!  We love you, and we miss you both. We will be back soon! Well, it turns out that at some point during March or April at work, there was a kind drawing that was held as part of an incentive for a goal we reach.  I didn't know it, but each district's manager were ask to submit a few names that they felt really went the extra mile to help the district's success. My manager entered my name! I believe I found out later that I was one of three that was entered for Oregon.  Anyway, my first day back at work I got a call from Corporate congratulating me because my name had been pulled from the fishbowl!
