Day 25



Did I forget Day 24, not really.  I started it but was unable to finish due to unforeseen circumstances. If I finish it this week I will post it here.   In the meantime, here is this week's submission to SuzyMosh's 'That's new to me', which you can visit HERE  This week's random letter is "U" so I picked Undling, and used a border of eez.

Keto Challenge Catch-up Days

I REALLY need to work harder to get here to update every day, or at least every other day.  It's harder with each passing day to get caught up. Let me start by telling you about Friday, June 2.  My husband met me when I got off work, as did my oldest children's grandmother, my "mom".  We then headed to my youngest grandson's high school graduation.  The only thing I can tell you about Friday is the day at work was hectic and the evening was full of excitement and, of course, tears. I can't remember exactly what I had to eat that day, but I can tell you my husband and I tried to stick with foods that are allowed on my Keto challenge. Saturday lunch I made a Keto pizza.  OH MY!!! It was so surprisingly good! I was blown away.  Seriously, I felt like I was cheating even though this recipe was right of the challenge itself!  I think that is what has surprised me the most. I'm finally back! Hopefully it won't be another month or so before I come here to update.  There's been a lot going on, including a wonderful vacation in Arizona! Maybe more about that later. In the meantime, here's a new tile I just finished. It's for  Diva's Weekly Challenge #218 , where we were challenged to use a white gel pen (I used Gelly Roll by Sakura) on black tile (I used an official Zentangle tile).  The tangles I used for this are Mooka and Zinger. I thought maybe that was a little too simple, so I've changed it a bit. Which one do you prefer, the original or this one? And here is black on white! Black Pigma Micron on white 3.5 x 3.5 Zentangle tile. Lightly shaded with regular graphite #2 pencil. And here again I used Mooka and Zinger. Day Seven

We've made it to the end of the first week. Today we learned about Tangleations, which are created when an original tangle is varied or altered.  A Tangleation can be created with a change of shape, tonal value, or several other changes, or combinations of changes. We were then to make an our tile (or ATC) using tangleations of the patterns we had already learned. I did mine using String #007-for the seventh day of course. So ends week one, chapter one. The Diva changed things up this week, and instead of giving us a pattern to use, she gave us a challenge to use materials that we had not used. For the 200th Challenge, I was the lucky winner of official Zentangles, not just in white, but also in Renaissance and Black. And although I have played around on tan and black paper, I've never had or used real Zentangle tiles other than the original white. So this this week's  Weekly Challenge by The Diva  was the purrfect opportunity for me to use one of my new tiles, along with a Gelly Roll Gel Pen by Sakura.  I kept it pretty simple, since this was my first go at using a gel pen on a black tile. I like the results! I think you'll be seeing more black tiles from me in the future.  And I might even get up the courage one day soon to try the Renaissance color too!
